Macarons are meringue-based sandwich cookie made with almond flour, egg whites, confectioners' sugar, and food coloring. The fillings are usually buttercream, ganache, and fruit-based jam. Properly baked macarons should have a distinctive melt-in-your-mouth quality


A macaron is in every way more visual appealing than the cupcake. It looks heavy and cute with two crusty, perfectly shaped round meringue based layers which have fillings sandwiched in the center. The smooth texture of the outer crust made of almond flour and sugar is smooth and appealing. Properly baked macarons should have a distinctive melt-in-your-mouth quality. 


So the first I tried in a famous bakery shop 'Theos' in India. I heard a lot about it and also got noticed while watching 'Gossip Girl' where Blair Waldorf aka Leighton Meester was very found of this sandwich cookie. 

When I took the first bite in my mouth, honestly it just seemed something has melted inside me. It was soo good.. the texture, the flavor and the buttercream. Just WOW!

I decided that I will be trying this at home too. I first looked at some recipe videos and thought- Bravo! Its soo simple. Only 3-4 ingredients needed. That's it! You heard it right only 3 ingredients. I just took my car run to a nearby shop and purchased the items. 

I started baking it for the first time. I merely followed the recipe steps by steps. Now the last step. I put them in my oven. I was soo excited. When it was ready, I was disappointed, sad and couldn't visualize that where I went wrong. I followed the video exactly same. 


I researched on internet the whole day. Finally I realized. Macarons are all about patience and time. We are suppose to leave the macarons for certain period. Set the oven temperature according. Due to these errors my whole macarons destroyed.




I don't give up soo easily. I gave another shot! Basically the first step is the sugar and almond flour has to very fined and egg white has to beaten up to soft peek. We can add any flavor to it. I added lemon yellow flavor.
