Best Delhi Breakfast Point
7AM DESI DELHI BREAKFAST POINT
Shyam Sweets has long been a faucet, sprinkling down the perfect blend of authentic food, culture, heritage and traditions for the sole purpose of satiating the teasing guts and craving tongues. In its early days, this historic outlet, used to sell delicacies like Soan Halwa and Balushahi laced with the aroma and flavour, digging & delving into old historic origins of Delhi. A custom which extends to even this day... Their generous spectrum of flavours spans from their very famous crispy Kachauri to the spicy yet irresistible Aloo Lachha. From sweet Moong Daal Halwa to pleasing Malai-topped Lassi (healthy and sugar free) delights!
Shyam Sweets has been the go-to breakfast joint of the city for well over a century, the glory owed to their oddball savory-sweet pairings of Bedmi Aloo and Nagori Halwa, two distinct dishes eaten together. Nagori (a joint term for 'Nag'(jewel) and 'Puri'), is a small, crispy and crumbly puri paired with Suji Halwa and Aloo Sabzi, which attracts dozens of drooling guests to their counter every morning.
People belonging to all walks of life were digging in the round Bedmi Aloo ki Sabzi. Shyam Sweet is not a very big area like a proper restaurant or something, but still the conjusted trend makes more fun and joyful to the families. Fast service and fresh hot food drill around every few seconds. You cannot control your mouth watering for a long time must say. We ordered the most famous breakfast savory dish and were served with drool-worthy authentically cooked aloo ki sabzi with the adequate amount of spices and chillies along with 2 crisp and round kachoris. The Chatpata item kachalu seetaphal and pickles pepped up our meal. The serving quantity is too much that there is no space to have there famous sweets. But we dont miss that too! We come back home along with Shyam ka famous sweets. The food made it all up for our crowdy experience. A must visit if you are a desi kachori fan.
